This intricate papercut abounds with symbolism. Above the text is the word Ahava (Love, in Hebrew). The inner borders contain a Star of David pattern, floral vines and roses. The next border contains the Seven Species which reflect the seven wedding blessings recited under the Huppah. In the Zohar, the Seven Species represent the seven attributes of life: Eternity, Splendor, Essence, Kingdom, Glory, Kindness and Wisdom. The central pomegranate tree is capped with the embracing line from The Song of Songs (in Hebrew): “I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine”.
